In a two-hour workshop, company member Dorcy Rugamba, a Rwandan refugee, talked with Performing the Political, a class at Barnard taught by Paul Scolieri. He focused his discussion on the way in which dance and theatre allowed him to heal after most of his family was killed during the genocide in Rwanda. He taught the students indigenous Rwandan dance and recited his own poems about the massacre. He also discussed his process.
